So I found myself a room in a nice house just out of the town, more than I wanted to pay, but it's nice and I have to spend sometime here so I guess it's worth it. The house is owned by a woman -Marnie- who runs a yoga studio- attached to the house, next to my room in fact. Yoga every morning- mezin! I have never lived in someone else's house before ( never shared with a stranger either) so it's a little weird for me. She is very nice tho, and there's another guy here so it makes it less odd!
Today was my first day at COPE the P and O Center I'm working at for a month. OMG it's totally overwhelming the scale of the task I have! I have been asked to review the service and suggest ways they can improve the delivery of service.... Clearly beyond the scope of sitting in my clinic room at bury! So I tried to establish what goes on already, referral pathways, treatment protocols, note keeping. All totally none existent! Patients just rock up at the door without appointments, referrals from Drs or any prior warning with totally mangled legs. The clinical staff are ISPO level 2 qualified so lower level than my degree, they attempt to manage the patients alone, without Orthopod or Physio (even tho they are available), no notes kept- not even contact details for patients....I'm no expert but It's a total shambles!... Lots for me to start with!
