Hello All,
I know it's been about a week since the last time I have posted but I wanted to wait until I finished my first week of classes to fill you in!
The first week didn't go too bad.Not really pumped about the whole going to classes and studying thing but I suppose I can manage. It is so hard to stay focused with the beach so close and the weather so hot.Although, its cooled down a bit, its now like in the high 80s. Sometimes I even get the goosebumps!
Went into the city on Saturday. It was a nice day to just walk around and do some shopping!A bunch of us went and it was quite the successful trip.
Well yesterday was an interesting day!Went to the beach for an hour, just 60 minutes and silly me who thinks I am invincible didn't put enough sunscreen on.My entire front side is scourged.Who knew SPF was so important?!Anyway you all know that me getting a little pink isn't unusual but let me tell you the Australians seem to think its unheard of!
Here an example of why, so about 3:00pm we hopped on the train to get to stop where a bus would pick us up and take us right the stadium. As we were in the bus the bus driver announced there was 3.5 thousand people waiting in line already! So we got off the bus and made our way to the end of the line.As we are walking past these thousands of people, I kid you not, people of all ages from 5-55 were snickering, pointing, laughing, and commenting on my burnt skin! I have never experienced something like that. I must have been asked over a dozen times, "Is that sun burn?"Once we got into the stadium and was pegged as an Americans, the staff, security, and supervisors were all staring at us.None of us knew why, then a security guy comes up to us as we are just sitting in our seats minding our own business and asked us if were of age, and naturally we were so we had to pulled out our passports which then in turn confirmed that we were 1. Of age and 2. American. After he apologized about 20 minutes later, (mind you during all this time they are still hovering behind us, whispering and staring) the supervisor walks up and asks me if she could get me a glass of water, because she was afraid of me passing out on her watch!Needless to say I went with the flow and replied, "its just a sunburn but if that would make you feel better than yes that would be great!"
All in all, once the lights went down and the Australian population couldn't see my burn the show went on!It was awesome. She sounded great live and she had put on an entire performance with costumes and dancers.Sooo word from the wise, do not go in public with a sunburn because you may be ostracized! I posted a video for you Ma so you can pretend you were there too!
Received an email with confirmation for those who are making a visit! I hope are excited. We are going to have a wonderful time.I need to go into the city to get my ticket figured out, it shouldn't be much of a challenge.
Bunch of us in the House are starting to plan our spring break trips as well.Hoping to make it to Bali but we have to do some investigating for cheap airfare. We got information for an all inclusive resort that may be in our price range so we will just have to see. Also Becca and I may be getting our certified Scuba Diving licenses. We will have to take classes so we are just waiting for our Broome Trip confirmation.Broome is a plane ride away north to the outback. This is a weeklong field trip for our History Class that should be coming up in the next couple weeks.
Hope all is well at home and you all are staying warm.I see that Daylight savings time is coming up so that will be nice to have longer days!
Until next time I send my hugs and kisses!
xxoxo

Aunt maria Nichole..... I'm glad your having such a greattime, but That sun burn doesn't sound to good. Use that sunscreen faithfully. You have such pale skin and burning is not good. Sounds like your having to much fun. I thought you went there to study. Can't wait to see you in June. love you
Mia Glad to see that you're having a great time! I laughed at the whole sunburn thing. I don't think I've gone more than 30 days without seeing a sunburn on Nichole! And it baffles me that most people would die to be in Australia for sb, and you're looking to go somewhere even better! haha, keep having fun, stay safe, love you! p.s. super jealous you get to learn to scuba:(
MOM Hey Baby girl, Glad to hear the Kesha concert was well worth it. I will check out the video!! But I bet it won't be like being there:( Be careful with that sun!!! Hope your classes are going well! Don't forget to study and get focused!! Remember you need to pass with GOOD grades:) Can't wait to hear about the outback adventure! Just don't forget the sunscreen!! Be safe - Have fun - and don't forget to Work & Pray!
Aunt Pam Hey, Nichole, You do such a terrific job of sharing your adventures. Thanks! You sure don't seem to be having any difficulty finding interesting things to do. Scuba diving will be great if you get to do it. We all went in Hawaii and it was and incredible experience. Have you done any snorkeling yet? Be safe and keep the sunscreen handy. Love you...
Sleman Hello there. I wished to drop you a quick niocte to convey my own thanks. I've been following your blog to get a few weeks approximately and have picked up a lot of excellent facts also as enjoyed the way in which you have structured your web-site. I am making an attempt to run my very own web page however I feel it's far too common and I wish to put emphasis extra on smaller topics. Being just about all issues to all people today isn't all that its cracked as much as be. L8rs!
