Took a 24 hour bus to San pedro which is quite north to Santiago.
Ended up taking about 27 hours to get there, we drove through mainly desert and there wasn't much to see on the way up so glad we didn't decide to stop on route.
The desert was cool to start with but after over 24 hours it got pretty tiresome.
Got to Calama where we had to wait a few hours to get our connection bus to San pedro which was an hour away.
ended up in san pedro at midnight and took a little while to find the hostel as the numbers were not numerical at all jumped form number to another!
oh well found the hostel and went straight to bed.
Stayed 3 nighs and then contemplated how to get into Bolivia but decided on going on a 3 day 4wd tour.
San Pedro is lovely set in the desert and was quite hot. Walked around the small town, lots for places for food and souvenirs everywhere.
