Mum I'm doing my best in the 'messages' section; you need to lobby a few other people for a bit of variety! You day sounded fabulous - even hanging around on a broken boat must be fun out there! Did you see some interesting fish? What's a 'coconut shake'? Obviously very cold! (Sarah Beany is on the telly and she's NOT pregnant!! That must be a first.) Next door have sold their house - hoping to complete tomorrow. Just as we're getting to know them a bit better as well! They had four grandchildren [there may be more!] with them when they came round for a drink this evening, so the kids enjoyed Mike and Rose's hammock that we've finally got up in the garden. Nobody did themselves any damage with it, which was a relief!! Nice people, so I hope they keep in touch. Reeth Show is tomorrow, so we're off to be country folk and check out the sheep and....stuff! The field on the right, just before the bridge - we cross over it when we walk down through the fields to Reeth - is all set up with tents and a show ring with seats around it. Exciting! Iain says in all the years his parents were here he's been to it once! How dreadful is that! Obviously, we'll probably not sleep for excitement!!! Enjoy you final day - and a bit! Mum Hello, my loves Sounds hot! You obviously need factor 50, or something. Pretty hot here, today, as well....but quite chilly this evening. Autumn is coming. Iain is cooking sea bass and it smells fabulous! Very tantalising. We've got new doors, with handles that actually work! Kevin spent the day doing it, so I've got to get the wax on tomorrow. Iain also started sanding and varnishing the front door (got one coat on) and we'll be doing the windows in the week. Joy and rapture! Also got the new fridge freezer moved into the shed, so G & T's are back on the menu (the ice, don't you know!) Look after yourselves. (If I end up being the only person posting messages, you can delete the messages you don't want when you print your book!!) Stacks of love to you both xxx

Mum & Iain Hi Sweethearts Just home from London and found your email about the blog, so very nice to catch up with where you are. You look tanned already! Couldn't see all the photos in you latest album, which was frustrating, especially when you read the captions! Tantalising. London was good; very hot. Dave and Catherine were both well and we also caught up with some other friends for lunch on Saturday. Had a bit a culture with just the three galleries! Very interesting - Portrait Gallery, ICA (Institute of Comtemporary Art) and the Summer Show at the Royal Acadmeny. Also, seemed to eat a lot. Iain had got a deal where we got our train tickets plus the hotel, with breakfast and dinner on the first night, at the same price as his first quote for the train alone. Unfortunately, dinner on Friday night was a little disappointing - starter was fine, but we couldn't even eat the meat (it was a carvery) and decided to find something more edible somewhere else! Never had a meal that was so bad I couldn't even eat it, I don't think! Then, next morning the dining room couldn't cope with the number of people waiting for their breakfast, so we didn't bother with that, either! Interesting experience, one way or another! You win some, you lose some! Looking forward to the next installment! Lots of love for now xxx
